What temperature does your car run at?

Have a 2012 X6 50i and the temp is running at about 220 (250 is the mid point). Is this normal? Also seems to take forever to get there....

yea i have the mpg gauge too. every bmw i have had though, E46 M3, E92 M3, E53 X5, E90 335i have all semed to run right in the middle of the temp gauge.

Maybe - but seeing as they sell about 10X more X5s than X6s and they are basically the same car, I figured I would try here first.

Unfortunately the X5 doesn't have a temp gauge, for some damn reason... Guess they don't expect people to push them to the point where they would need to worry about temp... BMW in their Ultimate Stupidity... I Would rather see a temp gauge than a MPG gauge.

Funny (well not really), I was just outside checking my manual and saw the * next to the temp gauge indicating it was some sort of optional feature. I was guessing that maybe only the V8 had it? But maybe it is an X6 thing only?

Either way, my next mistake was referring to it as a temp gauge when in fact it is an OIL temp gauge. Weird.

Anyway, thanks for the input..I'll slink away back to the X6 board now...

It was an honest mistake.

If you had come from an MB or Audi board, that's different....

It's the Oil temp gauge since we have turbos.

Actually, I'm in a 528 loaner and it has an oil temp gauge as well.
