TPMS / Winter setup

Hi All.....I am thinking of getting a winter tire set of wheels & tires for my '11 X5 50i. I currently have the 20" option running 315/35R20 & 275/40R20 summer tires. My question is, are there different TPMS for different wheel/tire setups? If I wanted to run an 18" wheel it would have a taller sidewall and would require a different air pressure I asssume....How does the TPMS communicate with the computer and adapt with different setups? I am probably going to go with the 20" M-style replicas (style 275). Does anyone know where I can get OEM style TPMS for this vehicle other than the dealer because Im sure they are going to be overpriced...Thanks in advace
