Have a deposit down. Second thoughts

Hi all--

Negotiated a deal yesterday on a 2010 X5M with 39k miles. Car was extra clean, but I'm having second thoughts re maint, etc. I hear the S63 is far better than the N63, just wanted to see if anyone could share positive / negative stories about theirs

ok let me throw another bone into the pot here.

I found the prev owner on linkedin, spoke with him yesterday about the car, he says the following:
'
1. The car is on aftermarket suspension, which was installed by BMW Dealer, and its approved

2. The left front axle may be bent

3. the Radio randomly shuts off and wont turn back on for a day sometimes

4. He traded the car in for 27k.

They wouldnt budge from 34.1k, which makes me pretty angry now. I used to be a used car dealer and a 6-7k profit on one of these is actually absurd (granted they put"new tires" on but that only costs 1k).

my initial offer was between 30 and 31, which is a fair profit. How would you guys proceed here?

I would walk away given #2. But, definitely don't pay a penny more than what you believe is fair.

I wouldn't buy it, also on points 2 & 3. The car will be worth a heck of a lot less if there are serious structural or electrical problems.

If they throw a huge fit getting your deposit back, then you know the kind of people you are working with.

I just spoke to the sales manager at the dealership (mind you this was a BMW Dealership in Connecticut). He wouldnt budge off of $34k, even after i pushed him on all the points. I passed on the car. I'm in no rush, i'll find the right one

Good move, there is no shortage of X5M's for sale. Be sure to check the classifieds on this forum too.
