E70 Wireless Phone Charging Options

I did a quick search and didn't find any threads started on this topic yet so I figured I'd start one not only for myself but hopefully it will help out others in the future.

Is anyone running a wireless phone charger set up in their E70? If so, please provide a response to the following questions...

#1 - What product are you using?
#2 - What was the installation like?
#3 - Are you enjoying the product now its installed?

I just purchased this system and am waiting for it to arrive. I thought I'd give it a try. It's a wireless charger and you can take with you as a power bank if needed.

I use this Choetech 10W Qi cert. wireless charger. Tried a few, and this is the only one that works, and it works well. I also got the Salusy tray for the center console. Fits E70 perfectly. Drilled a hole in the aft end for the chargers wire to go through. Put in a rubber grommet to make it tidy. Tray convenient. Easy lift to get underneath. Used Velcro, some thick felt, and black gaffers tape to bolster sides of phone charger so it is easy drop in and phone doesn’t move while even vigorous driving. Lay my wallet and keys on top without issue. Works great couldn’t be more satisfied. Got tray and charger via Amazon.

I had some on another forum for the setup when I had a 650. I had mounted it on top of the phone cradle that was part of the center console. Now doing the same in the M6 with some refinements learned.
I’ll snap some pics when I go out to the car before tonight’s shift.

By the way the X’s power jack in the center console is different than the 6’s. In the 6, the power is on all the time. Have to dislodge the plug in slightly if the car is going to sit for a while. On the X, it turns off with the ignition and I like that. I just drop the phone in and forget about it till I have to exit the car, and it’s always fully charged.

Not really the best pics. Was getting in the car to head into work.
The charging pad was strategically place for optimum charging position for the size of my phone and held to the rubber shelf pad by Velcro. The bolstering on the sides were by cut strips of felts pads kept in form fitting position with black gaffers tape. Some soft side of Velcro was folded over and taped in place by gaffers tape at the aft end of the set up. The result is the I just slide the phone in for a soft landing, and firm fit. Phone does not move in any plane even during aggressive turns and hard takeoffs and braking.

The Salusy shelf is made for an X5 center console. Perfect fit. Easy lift to tilt up or left to get under it. With shelf in, wallet and keys fit too with the phone in place.
I am very glad a got this shelf and charger set up.
