Drove X6M

Test drove X6M today and immediately got back in my X6 50i for a back to back comparison. Observations are as follows:

Power increase not as noticeable as expected

Transmission shifts crisper and is more intuitive

Exhaust note is worse - very disappointing

Steering is sharper and vehicile feels more planted

Prefer appearance of M model - more aggressive looking

If I was buying from scratch, it would be a toss up whether I would spend the extra money for the M. I definitely will not be trading up.

Drove X6M

Drove the X6M Carbon Black in Jacksonville today.

I found the drive exhilarating. The power is so much more than the 50i that I drove. The 50i is fantastic, but the M is pure power.

The tranmission is smooth and quick.

The exhaust note is more high performance sport car sound, not like the low AMG sound. I prefer the M sound more, especially in acceleration.

It tracks like it's on rails.

The M appearance is great. The quad exhaust looks better then the dual on 50i.

I hope to order in the next couple of months. I prefer the comfort seats over the M sport seats, they are just more comfortable on long drives.

This is just an awesome ride.

That's just what I was looking for, mainly how noticeable is the differences. I agree I like the look of the M model too. Glad you confirmed what I thought when I heard the exhaust on the videos.

Thanks for the info.

As to be expected....I owned an E46 M3 and found owning an "M Edition" a special treat. They're just so razor sharp honed-in on their mission. Nothing quite like it. I hope I can do so again some day.
