New to the X5...
Hello. I am thinking about purchasing a 07 X5 3.0. I've had a 06 330i and a 08 535i. How has the reliability of X5 been? I'm looking a CPO with 32500miles. I'm a little wary buying one with that many miles only because I know nothing of it's reliablity. I never had any problems with my 330i but my 535i has been riddled with normal HPFP problems that come with the n54 engine.
Anything in particular I should look out for on think about during my decision making process, pros/cons? I know the 4.8 has plenty of power but what about the 3.0? Thanks for any input! |

hi, i used to have the 07 X5 4.8i. personally, i had the car until about 24K miles, and experienced no problems whatsoever. the only minor issue was a small rattle in the passenger headrest (that bmw replaced for free of course!). so in my experience, it was a very reliable car. but i can't speak for anyone else's car.. buying any car involves risk.. esp pre-owned. but that's why u buy CPO, right? ..so u get that warranty coverage.
if i were to buy again today, i might actually go for the 3.0!! 4.8 is more powerful sure.. but it's not THAT much better.. it's a huge guzzler too.

I've had a 2006 X5 4.4i and currently owns a 2007 X5 4.8i. The 06 I've had for 17K kms and I have 11K kms on the 07. The only problem I've had are the O2 sensors that failed. All replaced under warranty. The X5 is an awesome vehicle. The V8 engine is very thirsty however.

I own an 07 X5 4.8i seven passenger and love, love, love it. Man the power is unbeliveable!
I also own an 08 X5 3.0 and love it too. My wife drives it. I have no issues with either. The 07s are a different vehicle than prior to years. By the way, I have both for sale if you are interested. Both very low miles and thousands less than dealer. You are welcome to pm me at peautry@msn.com. I also have an 05 MCS Cabrio and an 08 135i but they are not for sale. Call
