Doors Stuck Locked

I am 2600 miles from the problem. This is my GFs car and I am trying to do what no locksmith or mechanic in her area could. there are no bmw dealers within 500 miles of her. She has a 2001 BMW X5 A few days ago the car had issues locking and now it is locked and wont unlock.

What she has told me.

The only door that opens is the back gate. I do not know if the remote will lock and unlock it. I have asked and she does not either understand or does not know. (I will update if I can get an answer)

The other doors will not unlock via the remote or the actual door tumbler.

I found a video that showed how to get the double lock to unlock. With that said she does not need the fancy double lock or even the remote. We want one year out of this....can she somehow break the double lock or get this so it only unlocks via the key tumbler. I feel it is electronic and an easy fix since it happened to all the doors at once.

Might have some better luck on the e53 forum if yours is truly a 2001.

Odd that the actual key doesn't work. Has it ever?

Been a while, but I recall a similar issue on an e46 my family had. It was an issue with the gm5 module. There was a go to guy online for repairing the module. I think it was this one ->
