E70 Throttle body replacement help
I plan to replace the throttle body on my 2008 3.0D E70 and just wondered if anyone could offer any useful tips, advice or even pictures... there seems to be very little online.
I am told the spring has failed in my old unit but as I only plan to keep the car for a few more months I’m keen to replace with a recon/used component. |

It is an easy job. Remove the brace above the fan. Unplug the wire, Unhook the inter-cooler hose. Remove and replace throttle. The gasket is an o-ring that can be re-used. Long hex bits that wobble make this an even faster repair.
Measure to be sure but 70 mm length looks to put the ratchet right where you want it. https://www.amazon.com/Genius-Tools-...qid=1547505578 The 6" hex set I have is a little too long and hits the fan which slows me up. Last edited by smass; 01-14-2019 at 04:48 PM.. |
