He said the new IDrive won't be in the 09 (march-09 Productions), but will be in the 2010 model (September-09 x6 Productions)


I was hoping it could make it in the March Pro, so I can place my order now

It's a relentless march into the future.. They'll always have something new even if it looks the same (like Porsche).

New idrive w/ internet coming..then perhaps newer still next time with a slot for your 13" mac book.
If we wait for the latest, we'll never buy anything.
If u can afford to wait, then u don't really need what u were going to get anyway!

A ton of features are planned and iDrive will change dramatically over the next 5 years. The first gen of the new system with the hard drive is actually a few years old now so BMW has to catch up with MB, Lexus and Audi.

Sorry guys but IMHO waiting for a particular idrive is just dumb you're missing the experience of driving this car. If the idrive toy is more important then the driving experience you should probably be buying a MB. (here come the spears).

A new update was to be sent to dealers this week for spring production. Can Irv or someone else confirm if we have new iDrive controller +hard drive or just iDrive controller for spring. I heard at least the controller is coming on X5 and X6 in spring.
