Frame Rail corrosion

Hey all, I just got a '13 E70 35i and didn't notice at the dealer when I picked it up, but when I got home under shop lights I found this corrosion on the passenger side frame rail under the corrosion protection. I called the BMW nearest me to get a corrosion warranty claim made. They sent it up the chain to BMW and said they only cover body panels from corrosion and not structural.. This seems really backwards and as this looks like a factory defect, shouldn't they take care of it? I'm not sure what to do from here... anyone who can.. please help

That sucks, did you buy from BMW dealer? If not you might be out of luck. A BMW dealer should stand by the vehicle.

I did. I bought it from one about 3 hours away. I went to a closer one to try them, since it's a BMW dealer and a factory defect. They said that it wasn't part of the corrosion coverage, only body panels... does that make any sense?

It's possible but any BMW dealer where you buy a car should really try to make it right - so you should try them. That's really terrible. To begin with it looks terrible. It almost looks like there was fire damage at one point.

Does Wisconsin have any law where you can return a vehicle for any reason for a certain amount of time?
