Home link HELP please!!
Incredibly frustrating day. First had to replace my garage door motor and springs. I ended up getting the LiftMaster/Chamberlain 8355w.
Synced the remote to my 13-535, hit the learn button and seconds later the car controls the door. Voila! Next went to my wife's 2011 X5. Getting the remote to sync took many attempts. Light is flashing repeatedly indicating it's synced however the learn button and holding the HomeLink for a few seconds (several times) yet nothing. I've searched many boards and followed the instructions with no success for hours. Has anyone else encountered? Do I need the bridge kit or repeater kit? I'm skeptical as I haven't found anyone with a 2011 experiencing the same issue. This is driving me nuts!! |

Park in the garage. Clear/reset the home link in your car. Hit the train button behind the garage motor and within 30 seconds follow the training procedure for your button(s) with the remote. Should work pretty quickly. I had the same frustration but the key was incorporating the motor training procedure within close proximity. Good luck!

philly42 is correct. Your symptoms are 100% what I had. Two visits to dealer with no luck. The E70 homelink is not compatible with the most current Chamberlain frequency or rolling code scheme. The bridge kit I used was part 855LM, Liftmaster Chamberlain OEM Homelink Compatibility Bridge and cost around $25. It's annoying to have to buy this, but it works well.

my X5 Homelink has very short transmit range( compare with other cars I have), i had to park underneath the garage openers to complete the learning process, and have to get the car really close to the garage doors to open them, same to 3 garage door openers, so it is the Homelink not the openers.

Thanks for the input guys! Tried the sequence in the garage with no luck.
Added the bridge and voila, it's working perfectly! Pretty ridiculous that they haven't incorporated that tech into the unit. |

I should've specified that when it didn't work for me I called the company of my garage door opening and they confirmed that it wouldn't work for my 2011 X5M.
