Odered MY 2011 X6 50i...now the wait begins...

I recv'd this from my dealer today...Hard to believe but he still says April Deliv. Seems unlikely. Hoping it's realistic...but May, or even June is what I really believe. any one else ever get an email like this? seems like EPA or CARB figures are from govt and imo could take a real long time.

Hi!
It could well be possible.
I ordered my 40d 2 weeks ago.
I have been given build date of week 14 and delivery 31 May.
This includes a 3 week sea voyage as final delivery is to the UK.
In usa I think you can deduct 3 weeks from this time scale.
My dealer also says from experience delivery lead times are usually less than shown in the system.

Roll on may!!

My order was placed with the dealer in January (originally for a 2010 model 35d) however the system would not accept the order as I had specified Adaptive Drive. I now know hat this was due to imminent MY2011 changes (not yet announced) Order was placed for MY2011 model in 3rd week in Feb.

I only have a confirmed and accepted AG order number at the moment no VIN as yet but as I understand it the VIN is not allocated until actual chassis manufacturing commences for the vehicle.

The dealer informed me that the dealership had to press BMW to grant vehicle allocation to the dealership as a lot of dealers still do not have an allocation for the new model.
I understand that my vehicle will be one of the first 40d models to be manufactured.

System says delivery date will be 31st May

When you have a VIN number you have an order. Until then, you have a request to order.
