e70 x5m rear muffler pipe size

I just did a muffler delete on my car not to long ago and i fell in love with it. I kept the valves and tips so off M mode it sounds a bit loud and on M mode it sounds deep and loud. Only thing is ive noticed is that the shop used an adapter, i think its a 3inch to 2.75 and the piping is 2.75 until it hits the thips. Is the piping supposed to be 3 inch pipes to a 3.5 tip or 2.75 inch piping to a 3.5 inch tip?

reason im asking about piping is im looking to upgrade the muffler tips but if i need to swap out the piping to 3 inch all the way through i will.

I like the way it sounds now and dont think i see my self putting the OEM muffler back on until i sell it in the future.

any advice would help thanks in advance

Can you post some pics of what was deleted?

Are you getting any drone?

I believe the factory tip diameter is around 3.25" outlet and inlet is around 2.75"

OEM tips are 3.25" and the pipe outer diameter is 2.25"
