2013 x50i cyclinder 5 misfire?

Was driving down the highway where I floored it, only it for the engine light to come on. Took it to my buddys shop for him to tell him that cylinder 5 is misfiring. Taking it into my BMW dealership next Tuesday hoping its just the coils not anything serious. I am just surprised since the car only has 47,800 miles on it. I turned it off and turned it back on the light was not there, only when I floor it.Anyone else have a similar experience?

Probably need new plugs. If you're going to change one might as well change all. Mine were always toast after 30,000 miles.

It's an ignition coil. Happened to me a bunch of times on my 50i.

I had the engine 5 misfire code around 43k miles. Turned out to be a spark plug contaminated with oil due to a valve cover gasket leak.

Swap the coils 5 & 6 and see if the misfire follows. If 6 misfires, it's the coil. If 5 misfires, it's the spark plug.

see post above yours. Do not egg him on, warranties need to be held to the fullest.

Yea I know they do. Just losing patience since I still have two days until I can take my BMW to the dealership. I was messing around took off the oil cap, where I heard a small knocking sound. Just got to play the waiting game now

It could be a normal condition. Why do you have to wait two days to take it in?

Dealership was slammed, that's why I had to wait two days. Took it in this morning. Waiting for a call too see what the issue is?

Just got my car back from the dealership. Turned out to be fuel injector 2 and 7. BMW dealer changed all the coils and spark plugs. Car now runs better than ever
