First Automotive warranty

Does anyone know anything about this extended warranty? It is being offered by a dealership for an x5m I'm looking to buy. Do you guys know if it is accepted at a BMW dealership or if it is reputable. Online searches via goggle doesn't show many great things.

Thanks in advance

Be sure it's EXCLUSIONARY so it spells out everything NOT covered. Otherwise, you'll be fighting tooth and nail every time you have a claim.

Have you purchased any warranty, which state you are in?

I ended up buying a 2013 x5m from carmax. Their 5yr 100k mile warranty cost 3800. Before my last x5m from Carmax got totaled that warranty covered 7k in work at my local dealer in my first two months of warranty and cost me 150 dollar deductible.

Also my sa at the local BMW dealership says the Carmax warranty is the best warranty company he deals with since they cover virtually everything. On a previous Denali that I owned the Carmax warranty replaced even the struts under warranty at 80k miles which amazed me.

I have never bought a vehicle from carmax but I heard from quite a few of my friends that they have one of the best extended warranty out there. I am about to purchase one through my dealership but its only 4 years/48,000 miles for the same price as yours.

I looked into CarMax but their 100k miles is on odomoter I believe correct? Not in addition to current miles. Only issue was when I was looking, most of the ones they had for sale we're north of 50k miles...and those with lower mileage had a huge premium on price tag compared to market (CarMax obviously already has its own baseline markup).

You are right. It's 100k on the odo.

I bought a 2012 x5m 4 months ago with 32k miles for 40k. No options but side view camera. It had m performance steering wheel new wheels and vorstenier Carbon lip. It was totaled due to flood after only 2 months.

Just bought the 2013 x5m to replace it. Has almost all options including active seat comfort access led lights etc. Only missing soft close doors. This x5m has 37k miles. Bought it for 46k.

I am definitely paying a premium but I save in the warranty side. Also he moment I buy a vehicle from car max I take it to the BMW dealer to do a ppi. Whatever BMW finds Carmax fixes a 100% of it with out a problem.

Your decision to buy the car from carmax seems sensible.

I bought a 2010 X5M fully loaded with 62 K miles for 29 K... Than I had to buy two warranties as I wasn't convinced with the cheaper warranty.

3700$ Additional 110 K miles 5 Years( Sounds like a steal)
8000$ 40K miles for 4 years( good BBB rating and exclusionary )

So I end up paying around 41 K for a 2010 x5m, which is 30 K miles and 3 years older than your car.

Any thoughts about my warranties which has sky rocketed my total purchase price, though I am very reluctant of keeping the car without warranty

Having owned:

MZ3 Coupe(s54 engine)
MZ4 Coupe
E36 M3
E39 M5

I would never own an M car without warranty unless you have the time and tools to work on it yourself. I used to be able to but with 3 kids 8 and under time is a premium and would spend what you had to for a warranty

My SA said the exact opposite of carmax warranties. Maybe it's a local problem. He told me to choose a warranty that covered the cost of seals and o-rings when replacing a larger system under warranty, as opposed to re-using those seals an o-rings. He also suggested a warranty that works with and pays BMW directly. I ended up with a Zurich warranty. I have not used it yet since I'm still under factory warranty until Dec, so no feedback for you yet.

Must be a local issue. Carmax always paid them directly and my sa handled all of those details.
