Getting a set of style 214 wheels + new tires

Hello, first time posting but I've been lurking for quite a while.

I've got an E70 from 2008, and I've been looking at getting a new set of wheels for it.

I've found a set local to me, which have been recently powder coated. They have however previously been welded, is this a big issue? See the attached photos.

Furthermore If i decide to buy them, i would have to get a new set of tires. Which tires can people recommend? I'm looking at a staggered setup:

275/40/R20 Front
315/35/R20 Rear

I've been looking at the Falken FK510, Dunlop Sport Maxx RT2 and the Hankook Ventus S1.

Thanks for your feedback in advance.

Personally I would not purchase wheels that have been welded. You're asking for headaches.

You would be insane to buy them. Aluminum does not weld well, and it will have bunch of microcracks. Whoever welded these did not even bother grinding these welds smooth, they just concealed the crappy job with powder coat.

Just get a a set of new wheels from the dealer, I know they are expensive, but it's your safety.

I appreciate your feedback, but i already bought the wheels.

According to the seller (professional powder coater) the previous owner rode with them as they were welded, the seller then repainted them.

Furthermore i wasn't aware that BMW even made 214's anymore.

Buying the wheel might turn out to be a poor choice, but it's a choice I've made regardless. Can you recommend me tyres?

Why do you say that aluminum doesn't weld well? There are lot of things made of aluminum that are welded and don't have issues. Airplane parts, bike frames, etc.

I strongly suspect if the person doing the welding on these was a professional, the welding will hold up fine.
