That's quicker than I thought, thanks for your feedback

Silvereddie,

I supposed to pickup on Wed but due to delivery delay I will pick on Friday first thing in the morning. So it took exactly 4 weeks. The car is at the dealer

This was my time it took

Order date: 7/20
Production date: 8/09 Monday
Car completion: 8/13 Friday
On the Carrier: 8/16
At the dealer: 8/19
Pick up: 8/20

It seems it takes approx. 4 weeks from the date of order. If you can ask your dealer to give better date allocation at the time of order, I'm sure you can get it within 3 weeks. The dealer knows upfront their allocation spot which gives good approx. production date when you order the car.

Picked up my X6 Wednesday, have been playing with it all day. I love it! The rims got dirty just from the drive home, I hate BMW brake pads!

Congrat. How do you like the 6 cylinder... how does it compare to your test drive of 8 cylinder?

I'm very happy with the 6 cylander, I haven't really pushed it yet as I'm trying to take it easy for 1,000 miles or so. I haven't pushed it passed 3k rpm but it accelerates pretty fast and I do not feel any turbo lag at all. The 8 speed tranny is awesome and is so smooth. Coming from a CVT tranny where there is absolutely no gear changes, the BMW 8 speed feels almost that smooth. I think the best part about the 8 speed tranny is it's over drive. I was doing 80 on the turnpike with 2,200 rpm's, it felt like I was doing 50. You really have to watch the speedometer! I also have to post some pics as I got a Deap Sea Blue which I have not seen any pics of in the forums. Everyone seems to be getting the black, white or red.

X6SY, have all your concerns about the 6 cylinder engine and lack of adaptive drive diminished now that you actually have the car?

Joeko23,

Yes. The car rides firm and comfortably. I really cant tell about the engine since I have not yet pushed it yet. It has little body lean but cant complaint. But overall, its well rounded balance car. I am enjoying the car.

????

Where can you find where it says estimated time of completion date? I see online it says production but nothing else? If someone could help me out that would be great. Also have no idea what number you are talking bout to call.

Mine finally started production yesterday! I can pretty much confirm that the info the dealer has access to and the info you get when calling the 800 number and talking to a customer service agent are the same as I talked to both less than an hour after my vehicle officially entered production status. The automated 800 number info and the online info, however, still have nor been updated.

I was able to sneak in the addition of side-view cameras as well, without causing any extra delay. I had originally skipped the option because of it's late availability status, not wanting my order to be delayed.

Mine is in the paint shop now (as of yesterday afternoon) and is scheduled for completion on Thursday, 9/2. I wonder if they'll wait to put on a truck until after the holiday weekend? I hope not.
