X5 Valve Cover + Radiator Return Line

Hi - this is my first post - would like just some general advice. After an state inspection today, I was told that my 2009 X5 (E70) valve cover gasket has gone from a seepage to a drip; also, the P/S radiator return line is leaking (p/s reservoir to cooler hose assembly needs replacing).

So my question is this: for budgeting purposes, which of these two issues is the most critical priority? I was quoted $495 for the gasket and $285 for the hose. Do these prices seem fair? Reputable mechanic, but not thru a BMW dealer.

can't really comment on price for these jobs. Seems ok to me. Why don't you post which engine so we know?
