No, just one color, not adjustable. LUX has a website explaining all the differences.
H8 160 = brighter than V5, but not adjustable
V5 = almost as bright as H8 160, but adjustable

So back to the original question. Those are the H8v5 adjustables the "LuxBlue" he mentioned. Because the blues do look very nice and a lil lil bit brighter then the H8-160

Pictures can be deceiving.

The H8-160s are the brightest bulbs that LUX makes.

The ones I posted are adjustable and I think they're set at 12k. I'd have to check to make sure but they definitely look a lot better than white imo.

Edit: they're h8 v4s btw.

I guess the colour temp is always going to be person choice thing

I take mine into the dealer tomorrow. I will ask them to look and find out. How do you find out what year they are?

I can't imagine the headlight units are noted by year? Maybe they are, but the LCI headlights (2012 model year +) are easy to differentiate even when not turned on - they have the silver/chrome piece on the bottom of the headlight unit below the projector, like these pictured here -

Here's some pre-LCI E70 headlights, you can see these don't have the silver/chrome piece -

Thank you very much for the illustration. I will look tomorrow to see.

I just don't see why one headlight would be Pre LCI and the other LCI. If one were LCI then it would have LED AE's, not Halogen.

I HATE the fact that BMW did this. Name the 2011's a LCI - but really completed the LCI job in "12" with actually led heads. That's what we get for buying a BMW made in South Carolina

Let sign a petition for those owning half ass LCI's. Sue them for False advertisement :-)

Just picked up an '07 X5 4.8i, definitely going to upgrade to the LUX H8 160's. They look way better than the barely visible stock halogen lamps. Thanks for sharing these.

After less than two months with these H8 160 bulbs on the car my passenger side bulb is flickering, not staying on, and being real finicky. Anyone else having any issues?

I've wiggled the wires a little and it will turn on, but then go back to it's odd behavior shortly after.

Sounds like a wire may be loose if it turns on after you wiggle it. Depending on your soldering skills, i would pull them out and look at all connections to see if you find a loose wire and try re-soldering it back on, if not i think they(LUX)
has a 90 day return policy. good luck

OK guys, dumb question here after reading all of posts.

Can the 13 X5M LED Headlights be retrofitted into an 11 X5M? If so, I do understand that getting the truck coded for the LED will most likely be needed.

TIA!

Yes they can be retrofitted…a few people have done it. It's quite expensive but would be worth it IMO! I believe you need to get the OEM LED wiring harness from Germany?

Check out this thread…a few pics of the install are on page 4 - http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthr...&highlight=x5m

I would assume Stuart is a member here but not sure/positive? If yes, info on this install/vehicle might even reside on this forum somewhere…
