Advice on 2012 X5 35d
So my F30 328i lease ends in 30 days. I just got my pre-inspection done. I owe rear tires, the fixing of a scratched rim, and of course the $350 turn in fee.
I am very close to pulling the trigger on a 2012 Touareg TDI, but my rep at my BMW dealer is trying to talk me into a 2012 X5 35d CPO with 30k on the clock. Its vermilion red metalic, not my fav, but that's why they might be willing to move a bit on price for it. Anyways, what should I know about these? I've always loved X5s, but with the new generation out, the e70 doesn't seem as great anymore. Maybe I'm wrong. Any advice would be great! It has the premium package, premium sound, Aps, and running boards. Thanks! |

So you're up for a 2012 Toureg but not a 2012 X5?
Anyhow, I'd probably pass on that X5 if it doesn't have the Sport Package (and M Sport was not offered on Vermillion Red). BMW's are all about the packages and options IMO. |

If the guy is willing to go with Touareg TDI (slower and less sporty than regular X5), then shouldn't have an issue with regular X5d. For a reasonable premium of course. |

I went from an 07 Touareg V6 (prior gen to the one you're considering) into my 11 X5 I6. The Touareg was very reliable and relatively solid. Although both are German, the X5 rides better and has much better build quality. I agree that the newer gen X5 isn't as exciting, at least with the exterior.

I know everybody has their own tastes, but I like the E70 X5 MUCH better than the new F series. Exterior and interior design is just so much nicer. Sure it may be lacking some features or tech, but meh.

Well I'm getting close on this. They are down to $37,000. Just ticked over 30,000 miles and has a full year of warranty before the CPO kicks in.
Premium Package, Premium Sound, BMW APS, Running Boards, and a Trailer Hitch. TrueCar says $42,000 is a great deal. I'm leaning towards doing it. |

I'll get some good pics after I do a bit of my detailing. I want to start fresh, so I'm going to do a full detail even though it looks pretty good already.
I got it for $37k and they covered the cost of my 328is tires and all other turn in costs. I think it was a great deal. |
