If you have slip-fit connections, very much recommend the ARM motorsports downpipes. They fit perfect and look amazing, and only 350 dollars. They only list it for the 5 series but it fits the E70 N63 and S63 perfectly with slip-fit connections. I have it on mine and wrapped them in AEI Titanium wrap for heat, over 30K on them with zero issues.

No. I ended up just using gutted OEM Downpipes. No fitment issues, not too loud!

Sharing my experience, pipes purchased in October 2020. Fitment is impossible it seems. I aligned passe her side and expect a leak. I am out cursing while drinking a beer due to the drivers side. I also tightened the lowers little given how the flange doesn't allow much play anyways. I was shocked to come back and see how far off they are.
Very dissatisfied, this is a very easy pipe to make. Will post if I end up removing and mailing back. My wife's beast has been apart for a month while I put new turbos in, replacing all leaking areas etc. I've taken my time but nothing sucks more than parts that do not fit! |

I can chime in with my experience. They fit perfectly, a bit tight in there though. Had them ceramic coated too.

Return them for an exchange if possible.

Thanks, I sent a note, Ive already lost enough time, I'll likely just reinstall factory for now. Fortunately my wife has other cars to drive, it's just frustrating as I was going to put a hutch on her truck to pull the track car for a race next weekend.

Every BMW downpipe install I've done is turbo v-band first, then using the play from the exhaust system to get it tightened up. Usually there's 1/2-1" of gap that gets closed during that process (cant speak for slip fit). Are you guys approaching it that way?

I had a BMW specialty/Tuner shop install it. I'm sure they know what they are doing as they have done multiple DP installs. VRSF Downpipes are junk, fitment wise then. No idea what they are now.

I originally ordered vrsf pipes for my 2011 x5m since they are quite nice on a friends n54 335i. Fitment was horrible. After many hours of trying to get them on I succeeded, mostly leak free, but they were fouling on the firewall. A day after the install I ordered active autowerke pipes, which use an accordion type flex section and have studs welded on (the vrsf dont). Those fit like a dream and dropped right in. No fouling at all. Quality on the AA ones is much better. No step in size and inside welds smoothed out beautifully. Would have saved alot of headache to go with the AA off the bat and well worth the higher price point. Vrsf sounded SLIGHTLY deeper.
