Piano Black vs Carbon Black
Hi,
I am trying to decide on which trim to go for my custom order X6M. The car will be Sapphire Black with Sakhir Orange leather. Coming from a M6, I am a little hesitant in regard to the carbon leather as the M6 comes with genuine carbon fiber. Can fellow forum members give some feedback on your preferred choice and why? Much appreciated. |

Both are nice looking trims, but to me carbon looked a bit plain
Piano wood just adds beautiful touch to interior no matter what color of leather you choose It looks very fine and rich IMO So i think it is really luxury vs sporty look between the two |

Thank you guys! That pretty much seals the deal for me. I think I will go with the Piano Black. Wish they offered carbon fiber trimming for the X6M.....heard its going to be on the M version of the Gran Coupe.

I love the color of your leather - I went the opposite (black) and I'm happy with it, but yours looks great. What's the exact color?

I've had two with piano black and love it. Doesn't scratch and is a nice touch.

Here are a few (bad quality) photos of my car's piano black.
It leaves marks (fingertips) quite easily, collects dust which is super visible and I already have a scratch on the back door. Having said all of that I would still get it again as it looks best in my view. I would still hold on and order March/April 2012 production car as LCI could offer even more options. |

Completely biased opinion from me! My carbon black 535d M sport with black Nappa had piano black interior. 3 years later I swapped for an alpine white X6 40d with individual slate leather and piano black interior once again. It's such a great look and it sells better on the used market.

I have the carbon leather in my X6 and love the sporty look. Had a glossy wood in my M5 and am enjoyong the change. Don't think you can go wrong with either piano or the carbon trim, though.
