Has anyone simply added 7MA (Competition Package) and build date of 03/16 to the FA and VO coded their car?

I have an 01/16 build, currently updated to psdzdata 58.0 and was thinking of trying out "full" VO coding.

I played around with CP VO coding tonight, my conclusion from connecting ISTA/P is that the competition pack cars use a different DME that the non-CP cars. ISTA/P wanted to remove my current DME from the car as it did not match the VO.

I am going to do more research before actually coding any modules.

That would make sense. Power bump is only via SW and so are exhaust burbles, so DME must be different.
If ISTA wanted to remove your current DME; what are than the possibilities to install CP's DME? Do you need additional SW for that, is it like ECU tuning?

The DME does lock down after 10 hrs of operation following factory rollout so I doubt you will be able to recode it after that point.

So excuse my ignorance on this, but after reading through the thread, is it fair to say that it's not possible to code in the major CP changes? Or is it that no one has tested it out yet?

I am waiting to have my car updated to the latest software before I try. I was experimenting by generating ncd files and doing some comparisons with NCD/CAFD tool. It seems like VO coding at my current software level does not produce all of the coding changes expected, meaning the CP settings may not be there in my software version. It sort of makes sense since the CP car didn't technically exist publicly yet.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, anybody.

So hypothetically, there's a chance that flipping these ZCP codes on could enable the HP bump and whatever other software related goodies the ZCP has?

It's unlikely you are going to get the HP bump without swapping to a CP DME which will probably not be worth it. I am waiting for someone with a CP car to send me some configuration files to investigate.

The only CP variables you are able to code right now are changes in DSC and Active sound.

I'll have one within 2 months but I am sure you will get the files quicker from someone else.

Just to add to this thread...I picked up my Week 4 M3 with port installed MPE. I have test driven two previous M3's (both 2015s), and the ASD in those was very pronounced. I know some changes were made in 2016 to tone it down a bit, but honestly, with my car, I can barely hear it...I hear mostly the MPE, and if there is any ASD, it is very rear-biased. This seems similar to the changes reported with the CP ASD coding. I doubt mine has that, or some new version of the standard ASD, but it seems odd.

Any links or threads on how to codes the changes you mentioned?

If you can please save and share your SVT ("Read SVT" -> "Save") and NCD files from VDC, ICM, DSC and DME it would help evaluate.

Does anyone have a ZCP car that can share these files?

I am rethinking my different DME theory since the 03/16 part catalog has been published at realoem and etk which does not call out a different DME part for ZCP cars.
