Wheel spacers
I'm going to be putting on 30mm spacers on the rear and 15mm in the front using the stock rims on a 2012 x5m.
Any thoughts? Also does anyone know if the spacers will affect the vehicle mechanically? I read somewhere that spacers can cause more pressure to be exerted on the mounting original hub.. Is this true? If you are aware of any other negative side effects please reply. Thanks |

I did 20mm all around and looks great. You'll need a few more people to chime in on the long term safety of spacers and it's effects in the wheel hub and suspension

30mm is huge! 15mm up front should be perfect. You might be poking past fender with 30, I say go 20-25mm rear just incase IMO..

A friend of mine has 25mm in the rear using 335 tires and they are flush with the fender. My tires are the stock 315 so it should still be a little more recessed then his.
It's comments like before that concern me.. The dealer saying any problems that arise from using over 20mm won't be covered lol |

Spoke to my SA and he said there's no issue with the 30mm spacer, he even checked with the service manager. He told me to just make sure they are on right lol so I'm gonna have them do it when I bring it in for my 1200 mi service

Maybe it's the rims?? He is using the 215's in black I believe. Not 100 on the model but they are BMW rims and they don't stick out with the 25mm. The 30s made his stick out a little.
I'm going to stick the 30s on since I already have those spacers. Just have to buy the fronts and slap them on Monday. If they stick out and look bad I'm going to switch to 20 or 25mm. Depending on what the 30s look like. |

I ended up putting 25mm in the rear and 16mm up front. Looks bad ass!
It's going to look even sweeter when everything is blacked out and I get the dinan suspension. I'll upload pics soon |

Yeah it's an M.
I'm keeping my options open with the mods but I honestly like dinan just for the warranty and how it works in conjunction with the BMW warranty. I like how they stand behind their product and they do have the best warranty in the business. Honestly that's the main reason I was thinking about staying with dinan. That's why I got the dinan tune and not the renntech one. The car is a daily driver and I can't be coming out of pocket to fix things that broke because of an aftermarket part. |

I'm sorry, but what is the benefit of the wheel spacers again?

I chose the Dinan tune but want more! Im going the the Catless Downpipes and now have to go ESS for the cat delete, so I burnt $$$ on the Dinan...wish someone had told me, but I'm a power freak and if I can scrape more torque and HP I'll do it. As for the suspension, the KW yield infinite dampening, rebound and height adjustments. I have mine dialed in to be as comfortable as stock but have completely eliminated all body roll whatsoever. The suspension I preach has been as good if not a better mod than the tune. Truck feels like a car now! I can't tell you what it's like to powerslide this monster until you have sat in this beast to see for yourself...the Dinan suspension won't deliver unless your not concerned with tracking your truck or getting the most of this beast. I would not worry about the KW voiding your warranty as the product quality is as good or better than stock. Just hope you don't waste cash but want more down the road!

I got H&R spacers in the rear and race max in the front. I'm going to actually have to log in on the comp to post pics cause I can't figure out how from the iPhone.
I'm pretty sure the dinan suspension is going to fit my needs. I can't see it not performing well. Plus it keeps all the EDC functionality and the warranty.. Also spoke to dinan and they have a down pipe and intake coming in a few months and as soon as they get a new m5 they r going to release stage 2 engine software. |
