Closing the Hood
How does everyone close their hood? Do you lower it to a certain distance and just drop it? That's what the manual says and it's also how I do it on my E90 and E92. I tried it on my X5 and it closes but the passenger side doesn't seem like it closes all the way. I have to lower it and close it with a little force.
What is the hood made of? Aluminum? It's so light that I think just dropping it won't close it tight. If I try to drop it from too high of a height it won't drop down because it's so light.

I just go with the flow of the hood when closing it. At the end of the drop I kind of put some pressure into it so it can close properly. It's pretty easy to close actually with no excessive drop IMO.
As far as material goes, I'd guess some lightweight aluminum design? Good question though |
