New X6 Ordered!

Hi all,

I've been a lurker on the board for somet time. I occasionally post on 7post as we also have a 750Li xdrive in the arsenal. We just ordered a new X6 35i yesterday to replace our Rx400H. Details are below. Please let me know what you think. We are hopefull to get it in early/mid July.

2011 BMW X6 35i xdrive

Deep Sea Blue / Sand Beige Perforated Leather (they really need to make perforated oyster leather)

Active Ventilated Seat Package
Cold Weather Package
Premium Package
Premium Sound Package
Rear Climate Package
Sport Package
Technology Package
Active Steering
Comfort Access
HUD
Heated Rear Seats
Smartphone Intergration
Soft-Closing Doors
Auto High Beams
Lane Departure Warning
Space Saver Spare

Would have got side-view cameras too, but they won't be orderable till August. Too bad, they are great on the 7.

thanks.

yea the new 7/5 interior is great. we were between the 5 and the x6. to be honest if the 5 xdrive were out we probably would have gone with that, but we didnt want to wait till october for it. we are still pretty happy. only thing we wanted that was not available was the side view cameras.

still unsure about the adaptive drive / active steering actually helping, but figured we'd try it out.

the 7 still remains the primary car so that will be driven the most.

Thanks. Was luckily resolved today. Should hopefully get the car no later than July 15th. Just waiting to see when it will go into production at the moment.

whats the average order to delivery time? i know they quote 5 weeks and most of the time its before then. I'm on the border of northern / central NJ. for our other bmw's (come from germany) its usually about 6 to 8 weeks.

the car was supposed to be produced monday, but due to production snag its sitting in 112 status waiting for a production date. i assume it will be here by mid july

Hey Jblackbelt... How did you get your production code? I have an X6 on order and our sales guy told us that it was being painted last Friday and set for final build yesterday, but it would be great to see the code and follow it more closely. I added my vehicle on my Owner's Circle to follow my car and it only shows that it's scheduled for production.

Hi jkravec,

I have a close relationship with my client advisor and he confirmed to me that it was in 150 once I emailed him saying I believe it was. Also, I use the codes when calling the 1-800-831-1117 number to check production. They are the ones who told me when it went into production date and time, and my client advisor confirmed all that information for me by email. Hope that helps!

Thanks JBB. I called today and it has been assigned to a train (YEA!!!).

Has your client advisor said anything about shipping issues? Not sure if you would run into the same problem I am since you're in NJ, but my X6 has to go to California via train and come back to Colorado by truck. I searched online and can't find anything on this topic. Not sure if my dealership is trying to save money by shipping this way or if it's normal.

My X6 is going the same way that yours is: to CA by train and to NM by truck. Should be here in the next week or so.

mine goes directly to a truck. it skips the train part. your CA should be able to give you an estimated delivery to the dealership date which might be able to help you plan a delivery date for your X6. I should hopefully know when my X6 will arrive when I speak to my CA on Saturday/Tuesday as the car hit the bodyshop on 6/29. Should be in paintshop today and finish assembly tomorrow. Congrats though!
