Error code 2A7B (plus misfires) on N63
I had a problem with my 2011 X5 5.0 (error 2A99) and was able to get that sorted out by replacing the solenoids.
I'm now slamming up against a new error (2A7B - Vanos, outlet 2, cold start) and misfires on cylinders 1 and 4. I've cleared the errors with Carly and they come back consistently. The engine ran without misfires earlier, so I'm wondering if I made a mistake somewhere along the line. Can someone please clue me in on what error 2A7B might point to? Thank you!! |

Like Sophisticated Redneck said in the other post have ISTA is just about required if you are going to DIY anything on the N63 engine because replacing some parts require a re-learn before it will operate properly and you will continue to have issues like you are having now.
The misfires 1-4 could very well be the crankcase ventilation hoses if you had to remove those. I hate having to remove those for anything because they are so brittle and a tiny hole can have you chasing your tail. Other than that check your intake hose clamp connections and make sure it all guetentight. Here is a snippet that shows a Bleed and Re-Learn is needed after replacing any vanos component.
