X5M Owners, with mods major or minimal MPG Q's

I have a good question what do you guys get total mileage on a full tank of gas, and what have you done to your vehicle Mods and Maintenance wise. I'm very curious because I've owned/own 2 E70 X5M's A 10 and a 13.
I change my oil at about 5000 6500 tops, change plugs at about 12,000 2 step colder sometimes one step colder depending on the season , I am heavy footed alternating between sport mode and normal The M button is not necessary with the current module I have on the vehicle The M button comes into play when I really want to get frisky May be about 2/3 times a week sometimes the car may reach these triple digit speeds possibly daily I have downpipe's on my M Catted very high flow, Nice Intake setup,FULL KW/V3 - 15MM in ft 20 MM rear spacers, all recalls done index 12, A fairly new set of plugs one step colder NGK, ALL MAINTENANCE From front DIff /Rear /T -Case ,Tranny , etc approximately every 2/3 months sometimes more often I do re-calibrate the throttlebody I do monthly decarbonization (cleaning) and direct seafoam into the turbo inlet or I should say intake, to get rid of the any inconsistencies and or gunk -Also 1 Can of BG44k Platinum with a 1/2-2/3 tank of TEIR 1 93 (Shell) every oil change, my car has also 114k zero codes! STOCK Turbos / I get approximately 189 miles to a nice 68.50 Tank of 93 ! WHAT DO U HAVE DONE AND GET OUT OF A FULL TANK. ?

Are you saying you only get 189 miles on a full tank? I occasionally drive Portland to Seattle for work and that uses a bit more than half a tank and it's a 185 mile drive.

Hard for me to say how many miles I get on a full tank though since I rarely let it go below 1/4. I know that when I fill it I usually see between 340-370 miles till empty showing on the display. But overall, I average about 14-14.5mpg with a mix of city/freeway. Mods listed in my signature.

I have a 2010 X5M with 122,000. Car says it gets 17.2 mpg.

Don't know how far I could get on 1 tank because I do a fill up when it gets about 1/2.

I do mostly short trips (10-20 minutes max) / city driving (no freeways)

As for mods:
- Garrett turbos (I had these replaced because stock turbo housing was cracked)
- Previous owner did a muffler delete
- Previous owner installed lowering springs (don't know what kind). Harsh ride, but I decided to keep em because I like the look.

I keep up with maintenance. Everything else is stock.

Now That's impressive! /// You Deff must be using the CC ! / Wow ! - I have a feeling that's mainly hwy. That's Cool ! 17avg! / I have gotten 17-21 on my 10 X5M cruising on hwy / My 13 gets a tiny bit worse mileage, but I think that's due to the DP's and the glorious sound of the intakes and me Welcoming it often , lol

I like to put mine in cruise control on the freeway and average 18 -19 MPG at steady 70 MPH. I usually get around 15-16 MPG combo city/freeway.

Yeah, I dunno... it's weird. Sometimes I wonder if the computer's calculation is messed up, lol. Because I rarely do any highway driving. I do 1-3 short trips a day (~10 minutes each way) to the park and the grocery store.

Here's a photo from this morning's fill up

I have a nearly stock 2011 X5m. I bought it used one owner who did not mod it. The car currently has 66k miles, and is in good working condition. No lights, oil leaks, and etc. Only mod of significance related to fuel economy is a “90c” thermostat. I change the oil 1x a year which is generally 4-5k miles. This is not my daily driver. I may have a weak taste gate or turbo as I go in limp dick mode frequently while towing in hot weather up hills in 6th, Implausible boost is my code.

I generally get about 8.5mpg (7.2-10j) while towing which is about 180 miles per tank when running to fumes.

General driving I get about 13 city and 17hwy. So in city driving I get 250-300 miles a tank.

Sounds like the tune your running has set you up for lower fuel economy as you already are implying. Running colder plugs tends as you know to reduce fuel economy due to a smaller cooler spark causing slower and incomplete combustion. Running a tune also tends to reduce fuel economy as most tuners just turn up the boost, and compensate for overheating the combustion chamber with too much hot air from running the turbo outside itÂ’s effiency by throwing fuel at the problem to cool and end up running very rich. That extra unburnt fuel just reduces economy and increases emissions, increase fuel dilution of oil and increases rod bearing wear, and carbon build up. Running cold plugs also increases carbon build up as the electrodes never get hot enough to burn off the carbon, due to a cooler weaker spark. Also the smaller cooler spark can result in poor combustion and again more unburnt fuelÂ…..You get the ideaÂ…. In general most tune shops lack the expertise to tune for power and economy.

I have stock 13X5M w/34.8k miles. When I was driving daily to work (14mile round trip) I'd get about 11-12mpg and that was pretty much normal non-sporty driving. Oil changes about 5k or less. Driving much much less now...under 300 miles since oil change in Nov.2020...about to do another this week.

Wow!

So the last wknd spent it with family and probably mom being next to me in the car mostly keeping it under triple digits and then day or two with my wife keeping it under triple digits again and a nice oil change prior to this full tank of gas and I did a throttle alignment since the car sat for about a month and a half, i'm at 218 still got a quarter tank this is almost incredible lol I will completely be blown if I make it till I 275-i'm pretty sure though at 250 that's gonna be it, this is one of the first times I've ever actually got the car under quarter are usually keep the car filled or at least half or more I don't know why but I'm crazy like that lol - The throttle realignment definitely woke the car up after sitting for almost two months and a nice oil change with Lubro Molly Leichteluf (my spelling is off)- 2 cans of MOs2 and a can of BG44k Platinum (on a 5/8th's of a tank Shell 93) - truck feels good pulls like a freight train better gas mileage! BG44K is the absolute best - no question!!!!! -henceforth why you can't buy it at Pep Boys and local auto parts places unless their mom and pop places ! 😉/ it's like trying to find Amsoil in Autozone lol

I don't know how often you do it but if you did a throttlebody resynchronization I think that would help you it did for me/I did that I believe after I drove the car for a little bit and I put the BG44k in tank (because when I put that in the car I purposely am hard on the vehicle) so the injectors pulse harder etc. etc.- GOODLUCK!!!
