Paint Chips on Bumper

Is it usual to still get paint chips on the black plastic part of the front bumper? I thought this area is supposed to be more durable?

Is it an X5M by any chance? If yes, it's a common issue.
I have a white 35d, with 4,500 miles on it. Drove behind loaded trucks once in a while and definitely heard rockchips hitting the vehicle, but no paint chips yet.

Not an X5M. I expect paint chips on the painted part but the black plastic part?

No, not since the plastic is textured. I imagine if you could get it to stick, it wouldn't look very good.
