I've just picked up a 2008 X6 with media package and the navigation voice is a horrible American woman (apologies to the vast majority US forum members! just not my thing when I am driving!). Added to that, the audio is not being quietened much if at all when the nav speaks instructions. This makes me think it might have a dodgy nav DVD - it looks usual (8-2) and has the right part number, but perhaps it is a bootleg? Does it need a software update? Will a newer disc solve it? My 2008/9 E60 with professional nav didn't have that voice (it was perfectly British) and worked great, so I don't see why this X6 should be like this....

Just wanted to check what I should expect before I go back to the BMW dealer, as it's approved used...
