Question Is it worth "modding" my 328i?

I've noticed there aren't many significant mods to the 328i other than a few suspension and brake upgrades. It's quite expensive too, but does it enhance it's performance by the same ratio?

Should I just leave it the way it is (stock) and save money for something more "tweakable" such as a 335i (or something else)?

what do you think?

If tuning was definitely a thought for you at this point, I would say there is nothing more you can do but enjoy what you have...Selling the car at this point you would take a bath....

Yeah, I was really stuck in the middle. I got the 328i (used with 27k miles) for 26K and my budget was pretty much +3K at max. The 335i's I've seen were way too expensive (even used ones) that went up to 34K+, so I really had no choice.

Also, I wasn't aware of the fact that the 328i pretty much stays the way it is. But then again, I wasn't hungry for power when I was buying it, I just wanted a BMW lol. I guess I'll just stick with it, though it's definitely no regret. I love the 328i.

Asides from minor mods, I would say wait for 335i. 328i is a great sporty daily driver. Especially if you have ZSP. It's fun enough already.

just do suspension related stuff. it's all the same e9x platform. for example, switch out your stock sus. for m3 sus. thats what i'm gonna be doing soon. i have a 325i. car is paid off, no car payment. do i need 300 plus turbo HP? no, but it be nice to have that on tap.

i mean it's all up to you on whether thats a big deal (HP) or not.. but there's options.

Today I had a X5 3.0 loaner. It seemed so sluggish that I thought it must have a base motor, the 230/200. Come to find out it was 260. So my thoughts are the motor doesn't seem to have that much, mods aren't needed unless they yield hp or ft. lbs.

The only thing you can't modify extensively is the power. You're just not going to get too much more power out of it. You change the exhaust and air filter, but not a whole lot more.

But the 328i-IMHO-is actually a lot of fun as a daily driver and has enough day-to-day power. If that's good enough for you, keep it; if not, don't. But there are tons of cosmetic/brake/suspension/tire and wheels mods you can do to the car.

Thumbs up Exhaust for 328

I added a factory Performance exhaust to my E90 325I. $1400 including install. Much better sound, bolder pipes, -9 lbs. in weight, hp? supposedly +5, biggest difference was more responsive throttle when double-clutch downshifting. I am quite pleased. As a factory part, it also carries full BMW warranty.

I'd just make it look and sound better and pat myself on the back for doing the earth a favor and driving something a little slower.
When all of us with 335i's are paying 25 cents per mile (gas WILL go up again), you'll have the last laugh

hahaha, hilarious. speaking of mpg, i always average around 13-15mpg (thats what it says on the car). Is that reading really accurate? I probably should calculate how many miles i can go on a full tank ...
