iPhone iPod not working correct while connected in dock?
Just got my X6 the other day and when I use the USB connector with my iPhone to play my iPod all the functions work but I can't go forward to the next track or back using the steering wheel or the idrive menu button on screen? All it does is repeat the same song over and over. If I hold it down on the steering wheel button it will fast forward or rewind. But if I press once it just repeats.
It's driving me crazy!! Anyone have this problem? Could it be the connector I'm using my apple supplied USB to connect it. |

Sounds more like software issue, not cable
Did you try rebooting iPhone? Latest OS on iPhone? |

That happens to me in my 335 also. Make sure you play the song you want through the PLAYLIST and not the Song section on the IDRIVE. Go to the playlist you want and then the next/previous track selection on the steering wheel should work.

Is this new i-Drive issue?
I have previous (2008) version and it works well either way |

I have the iPhone 4. And not really sure which cable but it's an oem apple white USB.
I'll try the playlist idea. But mine doesn't work through the drive either using the forward or back. It's very frustrating! |

So it connects in 2 places. Wonder If thats my problem. I upgraded the software and still the same. Not working.
I also tried playlists and that DOES work. I can go forward and back. But as soon as I go into the main menu and select a song through title or artist I lose that function again. |

Yeah, its not going to work if you go through the "song" menu. It will keep repeating that song because that is the only one that appears in the list. I just create playlists and listen to the songs through there.

I thought 2012 has only 1 connector now for iPod, no "Y" cable anymore for USB and AUX, just plain USB

Ok well i was messing around with the options and settings on my idrive and I found something that said bluetooth audio. I tuned it on and now my phone works via bluetooth for ipod, youtube, any streaming audio apps that support air play. This is great I have full functionality only no cover art via bluetooth. I also tried a few videos the audio comes through but no pic.
