Sorry guys getting the new updated parts is taking longer then expected. Once we get them in we'll have them made and shipped within 2-3 days.

I ordered these last week and I received a notification that they shipped yesterday. So I hope that I am getting the right ones that will fit the X5M.

The install is pretty quick. The only thing difficult is turning the bulbs into the locking position. I've got pretty big hands and was only able to twist them a small amount. I very very carefully used a pair of channel-locks to slowly turn them the final amount to the lock position. If you turn the lights on, you can look in and easily tell how much farther you need to turn the bulb.
mswaz: You're only replacing the angel-eye bulb, the headlight/high-beam bulbs are different. The LUX site has pretty decent directions. The X6/X5M are pretty similar to the posted X5 info. http://luxangeleyes.com/guides/LUX_H8_Install_X5.pdf |

I finally figured this out. Actually only took about 10 minutes when all said and done.
Here are some pictures before during and after. Last edited by mswaz; 07-25-2011 at 11:59 PM.. |

^^ I believe it is because the inner ring is closer to the mounting point of the bulb, so more light goes through this one and less gets transferred to the outer ring (through the clear plastic tube)

+1 - that is exactly correct. the outer ring is designed to be dimmer.

Brought home my X5M tonight and immediately set out to install these LUX LEDs. I can't for the life of me get them to turn as much as they should to lock in. Are channel-lock pliers the best means of doing so? Has anyone left them merely tightened by hand without problems?
