Hi Guys,
I recently purchased a 2009 X6 35i with 64k miles for a little under 34k dollars. It has the sport package, cold weather package and the premium package. I also purchased a 3 year\30k mile third party platinium warranty with SafeGuard. Used vehicles dont bother me as long as a good service history can be provided and a extended warranty is a must. The X6 had the service records from two BMW dealerships, a clean car fax and it had the turbos replaced, power steering pump and hoses replaced, battery and run flat tires recently. It had some very minor interior wear and tear but nothing major that a good leather cleaning and conditioning to get it to showroom. The car was very well kept. Mineral silver exterior paint with the oyster interior and black rims. Will post pictures soon. Fun crossover to drive and happy to be back in the bimmer club as I have had a cayenne for the last 6 years which served me well. RDX6 Last edited by RDX6; 01-13-2014 at 01:17 PM.. |

Acceleration, engine jerking.
A month or so later, my first used car issue with the X6. So I'm driving normally and as I hit the accelerator, the engine jerked and the check engine light came on. I know that it's not suppose to do that, so I scheduled an appointment at the Dealer.
Dealer tech found cylinder 6 ingnition coil had a short causing the engine jerking. Replacing the coil costs $475, coming from a porsche cayenne, this price was not bad. They did a 32 point inspection and everything looked good. Hopefully this will be helpful in the event this happens to someone else. Symptoms: Engine jerking and kicking(LOL) after quick and or hard acceleration Solution: Bad ignition coil. Last edited by RDX6; 02-02-2014 at 04:51 PM.. |

BTW, you may want to replace the spark-plugs. on N54 and N55 inline-6 direct injection engine, the spark-plugs are due around 45k-miles. Just in case the previous owner hasn't done it.

Yes, the calipers are painted red, will post a picture. Yep..spark plugs were replace under the maintenance program from the last owner. You know the BMW Dealer would of been all over that, while in service had they not been replaced!! LOL
