Roof Rails or no Rails on ///M

Hey bro's

Just pulled my headliner down to add the flush gloss black roof rails on my ///M

Now I'm second guessing this whole rail business

You owners with rails - like em or would you rather not have them?

Owners without rails? Want them or no?

Responses appreciated

Hey Northern

I have rails. I like to the look without them. The truck looks cleaner. But at the end of the day I know these rails will come in handy.

Any photos? I have the silver rails on my X5 35i, and I wish they were black. It's just not worth the hassle for me to change them because I'll never use them.

Yes I agree - but I have the Vorsteiner rear bonnet and hood and I thought the roof would "merry the black bits" on the front and rear..

No pics yet, just working on the headliner and front LED headlamp conversion retrofit wiring right now

I went without the rails. The idea of carry cargo on top of an M Was a non-starter for me and liked the look better as seems more sportier. Picture attached.

I like my rails and find them useful. I'm too used to seeing the roof rails on the X5Ms. If I see one without roof rails, it looks like a bald guy who is missing his hair, but that's just me Good luck!

BTW... Glad u were able to finally find your Vorsteiner hood. But what is the rear bonnet you are mentioning? That's not the rear diffuser is it? Post pics!

Yes - hood poorly made - had to get one sent back and another one came in, not much better shape.

Bodyshop will spend some hours (= $$$) getting it to fit right

Yes I meant diffuser ! Still in vacation mode.

I have the silver rails and would prefer not to have them. Might just have to get them painted black.

I hear that a lot about VS products. I hope my lip doesn't have fitment issues like so many others have had.

P.S. A guy on XOutpost recently did the LED headlight conversion too. Check out his thread.

Yes - thanks, that nice fellow and I are in constant communication regarding the retrofit.

He is the first official forum member and maybe person in North America to do it!

Hey Northern, are you in Calgary? Do you want to get together some evening I would love to see what you have done with your ///M I just picked up an alpine white. I have an Eisenmann exhaust and I will put the my HREs on it next summer after I burn the tires off the OEM wheels. I am also planning possibly down pipes and a tune from ECUProgrammer in Calgary.

Hey bro - I'm in E-town. Give me a heads up when in town but truck currently down getting various items installed.

Currently getting hood fitment, and wiring up the retrofit wiring harness and vent mounted digital display.

Then headlamp install and roof rails (maybe)

I'll send you a pm when completed!

For sure let me know, I would love to see the vent gauge I have wanted one for quite awhile now. I just sold my G35 so I have a little mod money. I would come up on a Friday evening to meet up.
