Just purchase a 13 35d...can you rec a transmission kit?

Just bought (and am loving) a 13 35d with 90k.
Looked quite a while to find one that drives this nice with the multicontour seats and no sports package.

I'm going to start preventative maintenance and would like to have recommendations for a transmission filter/fluid kit for my 6spd.

I'm also going to change diff fluids while I'm at it, so if you have any recommendations there, please share.

Thanks for any help!

Any idea why this kit is more than the second link?

If you are doing the both differentials you might as well do the Transfer case.

Thanks dieseldemon! I think I'll go with CTSC since I'm at 109*** km (never serviced the transmission. I'm the first owner) and I'm only changing the fluid and pan. Unless you think I should do the valve body seals on the first service

I had planned on that as well. I've kept maintenance up on my e90 and it is still a great car at 195k miles.

There was a mileage-maintenance chart available for the e90 that was a great guide as to what to replace and when.

Has anyone made a similar list for the 35d?
I plan on keeping this car to at least 175k and I'd like to get all the preventative taken care of.

I would imagine it's more or less the same. Just add transfer case and diff fluid changes (since the x5d is awd).

Keep an eye on the thermostat temp, water pump for leaks. harmonic balancer, sunroof drains, change the engine partition cowls if broken (water will drip down onto injector 5 & 6) I even removed the yellow sound deadening foam and the crankshaft pulley That's all I can think of right now.

I just the the dpf, scr, egr, and urea tank delete and running a JR stage 2.8 tune

I would 100% recomend you do the seals, if you are dropping that pan you might as well take an extra 30-45 minutes and do the seals.. I was at 121k and my seals were already shot, you can tell because they were sitting flush with the valve body.. they should stick out a little bit to make the proper seal. My shifting was jerky between 2nd and 3rd.. after everything was serviced the transmission is buttery smooth.

Awesome thanks.

Did you keep the dpf stock?

Here's what I'm planning on getting. Figured I'd get enough bolts to do them all while I'm at it.
Anything else you guys recommend?

That’s it.. you got everything you need.

Also make sure you got some long angled needle nose pliers like these (YaeTek 4-Piece Needle Nose Pliers Set, 4-Piece (16inch) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01KV261HM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_YR9eBbDBGRER4) so you can remove the old sleeve, that was a PITA.

Make sure you watch this video 2-3 times before you do anything.. specially the part (26:00) where he had to drop the pan again because he forgot to make sure the gear indicator was in place correctly.. I almost made that mistake.

Thanks for the link. I have something similar from Harbor freight, but they may be a bit large. That video will be extremely helpful.

Good luck with this...I knocked it out a month ago and was pretty straight forward if you follow the video. The only trouble I had was from inexperience. I filled the tranny with 3 liters until it leaked out of the fill hole (just like in the video) then sealed it up and tried to shift through the gears. It didn't shift. I thought I messed something up so I tore it apart again. Turned out I just didn't have enough fluid in it once it warmed up. I had to wait and add more then shift through the gears. Make sure you point your fill hose toward the front of the vehicle so it can get all the way in. It was a nice $230 mistake ($180 of fluid, $50 new mech sleeve at the dealer). Also, be careful when reinstalling the mech sleeve, you can bend the prongs on the mech unit if you're not careful.

Almost forgot.. I had the same problem, luckily I had somebody more experienced with me noticed the lack of fluid when I removed the drain plug and suggested pumping more fluid instead of dropping the pan again.. sure enough it started shiffting again after I added more fluid.
