let me tell you my sad story

I ordered an alpine white/sahkir orange x6M in october. After two months of waiting, I received a call from my dealer and he told me to go pick it up!

So today i went to the dealership, SUPER EXCITED. Walking in the new delivery room, I looked HARD for my sexy white x6m. It wasn't there.

So i asked my dealer, where's my car. Dealer: oh it's right over there. He pointed at a carbon black x6m with black interior. I thought he was joking, but he was not. I freaked out. So i had to re order.....

Fortunately there is one half done, and it can be delivered end of this month. To make it up to me, BMW gave me a 2000 discount over the new order, but I am still not happy that they can make such a BIG mistake. What do you guys think?

I just picked up my Carbon Black with black interior ... love it!

All kidding aside, there is definatley a lot more stress for "us" ... those that are buying these costly and very unique vehicles largely sight unseen (that was the case for me) ... I second-guessed the colors and options ... even changed my order twice before it went into production.

Anyway, all I can tell you is that it is worth the wait ... even if yours is extended. Just think of it this way, you can spend the time figuring out what snow tire package you will go with in the mean time (I have obsessed on that for a few days now).

incredible mistake done by that dealer! what a hilarious situation...

even with that discount, it s so bad to wait another 3 weeks..

To those of you who are considering black/black, GET IT. Without a doubt it is a very sexy looking car, but i already have two black cars in the garage so it's time for a change

. Plus it was the interior mistake that killed me. If it were carbon black/sakhir orange i'd still take it.

Considering how major that goof is I would double check everything you order from that dealer, it's good they gave you a $2k discount. when you ordered did you get a written copy of the order ?

You see, i was too excited and stupid to double check the ordering form when i signed it...... so this time when i re ordered i literally checked 8 times before i signed it.

Atleast you get to enjoy the X6M.
How did you manage to get that I will never know haha.

I personally would have gone for the black on black thing.
Too many people in Vancouver driving white.
I used to be like that too, but now I've grown out of it.

Black, Space Grey, and Le-mans are the colors I think look good on all bmws.

Which dealer was that btw? Autowest?
