I have the Dinan on my X5M - sounds great with a much improved tone. Slightly louder than stock but NO DRONING.

Does the Dinan have valves like the stock exhaust? Louder/opened with M mode on?

If you're looking for 100% performance and look, get Akra. It's beautifully made and I'm sure it's the best performing exhaust in the market for X5/6M.
But you'll not get non of noise level gain until you punch all the way. Sound was good but I felt Akra was even quitter than stock system in real life usage.

Since I was looking for look 30%, sound 50%, performance 20%, I sold my Akra and got the Dinan system. Dinan is def. 10-20% louder, meaner sound than stock but still very daily drive friendly noise level. I'm keeping my Dinan for sure.

I had a buddy of mine take my X5M with Dinan exhaust out the other day and drive away and down the road. Mainly because the cabin is so well insulated I wanted to hear what it sounds like outside the cabin.

Wow was I impressed with the burbles coming off throttle and the mean tone once he hit the throttle and accelerated and up shifted.

Still sounds great in the cabin, but I could not believe the sound outside.

Definitely a great set up for the money. Akra may look prettier, but the Dinan has a lot more aggressive tone throughout the rev range.

Akra is still number one we all know this. It's a work of art. Unfortunately for this SUVs duty and being in the northeast I cannot justify that $$$ for the system.

FWIW, when I tuned the car the Dinan exhaust did make a big difference in comparison to a tune and the stock system from my butt dyno and responsiveness of the throttle.
