New Intake and Down Pipe options

Hey Guys! Talked with the guys at Tuning tech today and made the choice to supply my vehicle as a donor vehicle for some product development. During the next month they will be making some prototype downpipes and carbon fiber intakes for resale. They will also be doing dyno testing on the products to show results on stock, tuned, downpipes tuned and intake tuned for gains on all the products.

If you're in the X5MOwners group me you will know there are several of us conspiring to try and bring better products to our platform at better rates. This is a solid first step in doing so. I will keep this thread up along the way.

Here is a link to similar stuff they did with the M5.

Seeing as how their intake for the F10 M5 costs $2250 I'm going to go ahead and unsubscribe...unless it comes with a lifetime supply of handjobs...

You think thats bad, I used to have an e46 m3 a while back (keep in mind these cars cost $25k for a PERFECT one) and the carbon fiber intakes were selling for nearly $4k...

I bailed on this because of promises that were not fulfilled and from what i viewed as poor business decisions. Im sure he would work with someone else in his area but it wont be me.

Hehehe. Yeah, I had one too. One REALLY had to have that "17" HP to pay that for them. I always thought that was insane. Did sound great though...

Just read through that other thread. Sounds like a shitty deal. Sucks you went through all that with nothing to show for it.

I would MAYBE be on board for some plastic ones but not paying carbon fiber prices on top of M tax. No way in hell.

I wonder how much m5james paid for his...I don't know how to tag people on here.

I bought mine used for $800 from Travis1807. I've written the builder and he said he'd create a jig to duplicate mine if there's 10 interested @ $1000 for piping, silicone gasket and filters, shiped. PM since I'm NOT selling these myself, I'm just being the middle man to create interest...all purchases, shipping, etc will be done via the builder.
