Noise from rear door hatch!!!!

Does anyone else have an annoying rattle noise coming from the hatch area every time thereof a bump in the road or such?

If so what can be done to fix this as I have complained to my service advisor any they said it was normal.

Try putting lithium grease on all the rubber contact points.
That worked on a '93 Supra I had.
Might work for you.

I posted this in another forum, and by trial and error I figured out that it is not the tailgate. When u open the tailgate, open the bottom half that tilts down. Once u have both hatches open, locate where the bottom half latches and locks. You will see a "U" shaped latch on both sides right under the taillights, this is the catch point that locks the bottom half closed. Once u locate these two "U" shaped latches, put some felt tape around the "U" shaped latches and the annoying clunking should be gone. Took me over two years and many trips to the dealer to finally narrow it down to the bottom latches, hope this helps everyone with the tailgate issues !
