Tried to help a buddy jump his car, but...

Didn't find the negative auxiliary under the hood. This was my first time attempting to jump someone and I figured all batteries would be in the front...but no..not you german engineering.

Help ?

Check out your owners manual - it does help - there is a bolt in the engine bay attached to the chassis just below the positive red cover jump connection it is called "negative terminal in the manual' or you can use any where else on the chassis (as mentioned before ) providing it is not insulated by paint ,rubber, plastic etc,to attach the jumper lead .Good luck with your next jump start.
