Socale38 no swift, I had a chance to drive it hard
today in the turnpike for some reason I does feel unstable and not much dampening and I have it set on the stiffer end. I have done tck and Isc coilover in the pass with no problem and no settling time to correct bouncyness which I think is lack of research to bring out a good product.

I found that it took a little time for mine to settle before the ride got better. How many miles on yours?

About 300 miles, raised the rebound to 27 front and 22 rear and now I can feel some cushion. What setting you're running and preload?

Disappointed to read this. Mine are still sitting in the garage waiting but haven't had the time lately. Also been really hesitant because I love the ride of my Eibach's. What are you thinking of trying next?

I’m going back to my Vogtland setup for now but looking to make a few changes to the setup. Today I chopped the rear bump stops as I feel that with 4 adults the rear was bottoming out on the stops. I’m also looking at adding helper springs inside the rear coils for when I tow. I think these two changes will make the setup work for the next few months. I’m eyeing the Koni/H&R setup for the future.

Before you sell it isnt cheaper to upgrade springs to 16k/14k. Call bc racing and ask for bc springs at their cost. You can keep.same valving when you raise or lower spring rate by 1k.

What damper settings were you using?

Already made the switch over the weekend so it’s a done deal. Before spending any more money I’ve got some maintenance to do as I’m reaching almost 90k and I think I’ve got an idler pulley on its way out.

Good luck with the next experiment You sticking with the vogtlands over the eibachs (saw you were getting rid of those too) because of the lower rear? Anybody running Koni/H&R setup on the x5 with good results that you're aware of?

The only reason I’m going Vogtland is because the rear drop on the Eibach just isn’t enough for me. That being said the Eibachs are by far the best handling and comfortable of all the setups I’ve had.

As for the Koni setup, I’ve heard good reviews and while I’m approaching 90k this is why I’m considering them.

I have been messing around with the idea of doing a lift. Do you think you could safely set the bc's to go higher than stock lol? How much thread is left up there? Would probably be bouncy as hell haha.

Update

I have been driving with the new springs 16k front and 14k rear for over 400 miles now. The front oscillation is gone but gained more in the rear. I feel more oversteering and taking turns the rear end give me an "I want to flip sensation" which I never felt with stock or h&r springs, on dips the rear fall and re bounce to quick. I believe the issue is the linear springs replacement bccoilovers.com sended me for the rear which are the same spec as the swift springs. OEM springs. , lowering springs and bc racing with stock springs uses a barrel type rear spring similar to progressive springs which allows more suspension travel and spring stability for this application.

Before installation I email bcracingcoilovers.com to complaint that they shipped the wrong rear springs. Their response was that they switch from barrel springs to straight linear springs all the time in other applications with no issue and that a bc doesn't offer a higher spring rate barrel springs . Next day I called Bc racing north america to confirm and their response was that bcracingcoilovers.com don't know sh**t , that a linear spring for the x5 rear is not compatible and that the 12k barrel spring had to be fabricated for our application. My question is why offer a swift upgrades when they only make linear springs?

Next step is to go back with the 12k rear with 10mm preload and see how it rides with the stiffer front or install the h&r spring with the bc shock . I believe tck racing sells barrel springs that might work if they have the needed specification.

Yeah I’m working with BC techs and they are trying to determine the best rates based on the data I have provided them. Would like to hear of any recent updates.

My 16k up front feels great, The oscillating is gone, all we need is a 14k s barrel spring for the back. I tried a 14k linear spring from my vendor but it would rebound 2 quick, called bc and they said a linear spring in the rear x5 independent rear suspension is a no go. a 14k barrel would aloud a better spring stroke. at 30 inch height ,my rears has a slight rubbing on dips. Maybe we can get bc to make us a 14k s barrel for to make this work. Below is a picture of my current height.

You must be running spacers as I was running 30” in rear with no issues.

Yes, i'm running 25mm spacer in the rear . With 2 and 1/2 finger gap clearance they shouldn't be any rubbing and this is without passeger. A lot of guys here are running aggressive wheel set up at 30 inch and lower with k&w with no rub no issues. The rear end just feel loose when the road are uneven. If they were to match the spring rate of the k&w rear springs that would be golden. I tried the linear spring in the back and it was a little scary entering corners.

There are a lot of factors that can contribute to your rubbing issue. 25mm is a bit aggressive and compared to someone running a custom wheel your offset is likely not the same. Also the tire sidewall profile can also contribute to rubbing on aggressive setups.

I’m running stock 20” 214 wheels sitting at 30” in rear with I think 20mm spacers and I’ve done some serious towing without issue. Sounds to me your wheel/tire/spacer setup is just too aggressive or the rear suspension is overly soft.

Was the towing with the bc coilovers? , my rear spring are really soft and this is with 24 clicks from soft, it can't keep rear dampered on deeps. The rubbing is not noticeble till you get of the truck and see that the fender has swap paint with the tires. If you have the black trim fender trim you will no be able to tell, When you installed the bc did you get a car alightment? Before alightment my camber was around -2.5 with no rubbing now a -2 the rubbing is there , even at 30" 3/8 height.
