X5 navi question
So, I totaled my 08 335i coupe and I'm looking to purchase an 09 X5 4.8i. The truck is as perfect as can be. I'm not a huge fan of the space grey, but I think I can live with it. I mean how can you pass up on those huge butterfly wheels and tires. Anyways... It's got the LCD screen that shows you climate control, radio stations etc... How can I incorporate a navi with this screen??
All advise is appreciated. |

Retrofit.
on the forum, some good DIY. On a 2009, it came usually with a CCC module. People retrofit 2010+ CIC module. You need to change the display from a 6.6in to a 8in screen also. There are kits selling on the WEB for +- 3k$

T335iQ, I am in the same boat. A storm two weeks ago brought a large limb down on a 330ci I was pampering since 2002. I used insurance money to purchase 2009 X5, 3.0. It's not my main car, but after a couple of weeks, I wish I went for 4.8 or D model. Plus, not having backup camera and nav like my other car leaves me trying to figure out how to upgrade. I've searched a bunch of posts and sent emails to vendors that offer some limited solutions. One company offers a rear view mirror option, but I am looking for something more OEM. If others have some ideas, let me know. I'd even consider purchasing a CCC system to get nav or back up camera. Thanks.
OEM Option (seems this is more prevalent in Europe and Canada (although I did find post about company in Chicago that does this, but the guy is tough to track down). Non-OEM option: post on how complicated this may be for us: http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/e60...ation-log.html |

Coding can be done remotely (except of course the installation).
You have very detailed installation procedure, or you can bring the parts to a trusted car audio specialist. Either if you buy from Bimmer Tech (Patryk) or Bimmer Retrofit (Alex).
