Spare tire size and mounting

So I went from runflat to non-runflat and ordered spare tire kit from getBMWparts.com

but when I brought it to tire shop for mounting and balancing, the tire shop wasn't able to inflate the tire saying the tire is too skinny for the rim.

tire is 155/90D 18 Dunlop.

Did I get incorrect parts? or is there special way to inflate the tire and the shop I went didn't know about it?

I emailed getbmwparts.com and waiting for reply. Called several bmw dealers and all are saying there are no spare tire parts for 2012 x5.

Part #'s are
36116768861 compact spare wheel
36120418845 tire 155/90d18 dunlop

Tire size has got to be wrong. That tire looks about the right size for a motorcycle.

X5M spare is 155/80R19, so tire sounds right. Rim might be wrong.

Brilliant!
But would it hold the air or the shape after it is inflated?

I wonder if this is normal, if the dealer stored the tire improperly, or simply another BMW's quirky feature.

I'm gonna try with ratchet strap tomorrow.

I have the same kit in my X5 and my tire and wheel guy got the tire mounted on the space saver rim with the ratcheting strap technique SB330 noted above. It holds air.
