I mean those are not the bmw one time use clamps. Would you happen to have a link to the ones you are using. They look really good. Thanks
I don't have a link, I bought it as is, probably the previous owner replaced them.
Got the hcp ones

jandref321 thank you for this detailed write-up. I have had the same 2D2E code with a misfire and rough idle. So I bought all the parts you've listed including the GFB DV+ diverter valves and specialty fasteners and am planning to do the job this weekend, along w/ spark plugs. (BTW, the Go Fast Bits kit now includes the specialty fasteners)

Question: I see some evidence of a small coolant leak coming from those turbo charger coolant lines. If I see that I need to replace these hoses is it as simple as removing the clamps and getting a towel to prevent coolant from going everywhere, then topping off the coolant? Colodano I read in your post that you had to replace "that damn coolant tube between the heads." Do you guys advise I also do these parts while I'm in there?

Another question: what kind of oil filler cap do you have installed? It looks almost like an exposed filter of some sort?

This is for my 2013 X6M with 62k miles.

Thanks in advance!

JRock looks like you are off to a good start, the coolant hose between the heads is a bit more work, as you need to remove the alternator as well. I would let it be for now, but keep it in mind for down the road. I am tempted to see what the measurement is between the black gasket where the fresh air vent goes into the turbo vs the orange replacement ones, as I had had to do them a couple time now, in 50k of ownership on my rig, and the one I did the other day still seems loose
If you want, shoot me a message and I can swing by to see how you are doing, I am in the west Littleton area

Sounds good, I'll let it be for now then and try to keep an eye on it. Thanks a bunch for the advice and offer! I got delayed this weekend so plan to tackle it this week and will shoot you a note.
