X6 Software Update
I purchased my X6 in the middle of May 2008. I was wondering if there is a software update for the car since its release. Also and if there is then what does it fix or improve?

My dealer updated my software back in December 2008. I could not tell any difference with anything. I was not having any issues before but did have a tow hitch installed and BMW required a software update for the electrical connection. If you are not having issues, I would avoid an update until you do. The only issue that I have heard on several occasion is the bluetooth phone volume resetting to low after reconnecting a cell phone. An update for this issue is expected in a few months.

I had a call from my SA about my check engine light problem, he stated they had just installed some new diagnostic equipment and would be scheduling my car for bunch of progman updates. After I have this done (and hopefully light will go out ) I will post any significant info if I can understand it.

As far as I know a particularly useful update will be coming out in March. I have the issue where the phone and nav volume is set to minimum by the car everytime I switch off the engine and BMW confirmed an update to fix this and "other" small bugs will be out in March.
