But 9 hours just to install head lights? Took me half that, including the wiring and installing FRM3 module. Not a rush job either, all connections that were soldered with heat shrink and Tesa tape throughout.

Still, end result is all that matters

yes I came to the shop at around 12:30 and left at almost 10, so about 9 hours, maybe 8 if I take out little brakes.
It doesn't sound like much but he or I never did this job before and there are many screws and units that needed to be disconnected and moved around, also passenger side headlight didn't want to come out easily, then grommets, fishing, etc., also soldered the ends for the wiring. Haven't install the new footwell yet but obviously had to remove original.

I agree the result what counts

I'm quick working on my own cars and same over here it took me 3-4 hrs tops to do all that except for codding.
Is not a hard process just have to be carefull with hardware and other pieces cuze u don't want to damage anything than curse ur self up lol.

If I wouldn't be there myself I would think that I got ripped off but I've been there and the guy is pretty anal when it comes to install and make sure everything is clean and right, so in my case it took longer
I'm looking forward to final result as well, suppose to get a call from the mechanic he promised to check in couple places for coding, no word yet, I will def. update with process, who knows maybe I'll get lucky and won't need to replace FRM3 like in your case, I doubt it but we'll see.

Awesome! Beast looks finished. Besides a bbk, I don't really see anything else you could do. Congrats on that, finished projects are always the best. I had no idea you picked up an Akrapovic, insanity!

I have few other things on my list but they won’t happen any time soon (I’m broke after all this updates)
I know those bbk would be sweet but I can’t do them any time soon!
no, I don’t have Akrapovic exhaust, those are Akrapovic tips

my short list of future updates include:
F85 cross drilled rotors
Akrapovic exhaust
CIC to NBT2 conversion
Leather dash
We’ll see if and when these are going to happen!

Yes, looks wise it’s pretty much finished and I’m pretty happy the way it turned out.

Finally coded!

I had to change to new FRM3, ty!
I had to learn how to use all the BMW software and read bunch of stuff
I will post my own instructions later as what is out there not exactly worked in my case
but finally everything 100% working
took me 3 weeks to attempt doing it!
I also used $30 cable from Amazon and it worked just fine!

You side signals/markers do no seem to be chrome from what I can tell? What colour are they and where did you get them from?
