Pretty much the same as the M3, just an additional clip IIRC.

That's correct the install is just like the M3 sides.

The below DIY is for the F10 M5, but we have found almost all rear reflectors follow the same general installation guideline.

Can the chrome portion of grill inserts be painted body color? Thinking that might look good.

I apologize, I was thinking X5M. In order to remove the rear reflector on the X6M the rear bumper cover must be removed. The reflector is rather large and has a substantially sized mounting flange. Below is a photo off the vehicle.

We have attempted to purchase the 2013+ cores from BMW using VIN and have not been successful. Our representative at BMW states there is not a valid part number for the 2013+ front grill and it was simply a production piece. As we are not affiliated with BMW it is difficult to say whether this statement has any teeth.

From our experience the pre-LCI (--2013) grill does fit the 2013+ car. If a client wishes to have the new style front grill they can ship them to our location and we will charge for paint service.

Ok, thanks.
I wonder what the problem is? So, if one were in an accident they would have to get the old grill?
Something doesn't smell right.

Yes, that is essentially what they are communicating to us. As mentioned we have tried to order via VIN with no success.

I believe you. I was talking about them when I referred to the smell.
