2012 question

Anyone know if the new x3 or 2012 x5/x6 led liscense plate lights will work with a 2011 x6? Thought maybe I could just buy a set of lights at the dealer and throw those in. Looks to be same housing.

2012 X6 are LED type and same housing with 2011

Is factory installed so no errors on dash
