I'm a bit of a Waze whore. I wear my crown with pride! An Escort detector and Waze can't be beat for a winning combo IMO

I use Waze every day. It's funny my car has navigation, and my iPhone is docked next to the 8.4" screen.

People I know think I am crazy for using "double navigation". Ha ha ha...

How much data does it burn through? I'm having to up my data plan from 4Gb to 6Gb. Can it really use that much?

I just got it as well. I try and contribute when I see cop cars waiting by major streets.

Really cool app!

A friend of mine has a son ("Andrew") who is a Fairfax, VA County cop. He and his training officer were out on speed patrol a few months ago. His training officers pulls out his smart phone shows Andrew the WAZE app. Says, "See here we are!", then he un-reported their location and just laughed...

Been a user for few years, can't tell you # of times and HOURS it has saved me. My commute has been 65 miles round trip through 2-3 states and it's saved me a lot of aggravation. Don't think there's a better traffic app out there.

My one complaint, and this goes with most GPS software, is even though it knows traffic patterns and current conditions, it still likes to pick routes that are slower. Every day it tells me a slower way to work. Every day, after skipping 5 of its route changes, it finally routes me the way I wake...and my ETA always goes down by 4 minutes.
Google Maps FTW!!! I don't trust any other GPS.

The algorithm is smarter than that, it takes more than one user reporting "not there" for the "hazard" to go away.

Also what that cop is doing is unethical and illegal not to mention not doing their job and therefore wasting public funds.

LOL. I'm not sticking up for the police and speed traps, but the people you elected to run your county/state make it the job of the police to enforce the speed limits (like dude, it's not ALL they do by the way). And subverting a phone app is not illegal. LOL.

Trust me, I've got my share of speeding tickets and failure to obey traffic devices, blah, blah, blah. Oh, and the time I got a ticket for driving too slow because I was following a guy who ran me off the road when he was on his cell phone (he actually gave me the finger AFTER running ME off the road) -pacing the little pussy by being in front of him - he was driving too slow. Anyway, Last I checked SPEEDING was illegal. If you don't like cops running speed enforcement then don't participate. What unethical is using an app to break posted speed limits.

I drive 160 miles round trip every day to work so driving above the speed limit is in my best interest to make my commute short as possible. But if I get caught, then that's on me.

And Waze has yet to update its interface for the higher resolution screens on the Iphone 6 and 6+. It looks very dated compared to the slick high resolution of google maps.
Function vs Form ?!

Haven't used Waze in a while, I seem to be invisible to the bacon the past year+. Definitely saved me on a handful of occasions when I first found the app though.

I downloaded it earlier this week.

I haven't really been anywhere I don't know my way too, but I've had it on to do my share of reporting and hoping to get any police notifications as I drive through London quite a bit.

Need to get a little phone holder in the car as it sits in my cup holder at the moment..

Great little app, I'm sure there is a Waze Forum so any suggestions you have you can contribute would always be a bonus!

Just a bit of a battery killer..

I have 20gb data a month so I'm not fussed on that behalf.

You have a point. My rule is if I'm making a trip that I know (to work, etc) or a long trip like CT to DC I use Waze for all of the alerts, but if it's a place I'm going to for the first time I use Google Maps. Google Maps seems to be much better at direction and location, but Waze is way better at traffic and avoiding the 5-0

The only thing I don't really like now I have used it a bit more, is it alerts you of a speed camera, but if theres one more half a mile down the road it doesn't warn again, until a couple miles later in a different area.

Here in the UK our motorways are becoming packed with cameras, waze has them located on screen but there is not always a voice notification for them.
